When I first started looking for inspiration and wedding eye candy, I was attracted to modern ideas and designs. While modern can certainly be beautiful, nothing says " I do" better than tradition.
One thing I noticed while planning my wedding is that more and more elements are becoming traditional and less modern. It started with the venue, then the dress and after a while I really started to embrace all the traditions. They have meaning and history, and " If it's not broken, why fix it"? I started looking for traditional inspiration and found that "main stream" wedding accessories and decor are so....blah. I found nothing fascinating about finding the same ol' same ol' around every corner. I was looking for a unique twist on tradition. Out of my google adventures and some etsy browsing I came across some inspiration in the form of ring pillows. I have a few hand crafted favorites and I also started hand crafting my own. Something that was suddenly important was passing things down. Thinking about marriage and the meaning, children, grand children. I started to yearn for the things that my children would want, heirlooms and heirloom quality possessions. I think these fit the bill.
